Hi, I have a high PR6 (toolbar) site that I would like to "shift" the keyword. For example, lets say the site was on "Racing Cars", and I wanted to shift it to "Formula 1".

If I updated most of the content to reflect the new subject, will I get a close PR (say 5) on the new keywords?

PR has nothing to do with kw's you can change your title every day and your PR will not change.

Hey don't worry about it. We all had newbie questions at once.

You get PR from sites linking to you. Now if you are ranking because of anchor text then changing your title away from that anchor text will hurt you with those words in the SERPS. But as far as toolbar PR goes your title does not affect it in any way.

I don’t think it’s anymore! Google may ignore links from unrelated sites ~ getting related inbound & outbound links would help to improve your SERPS & PR.

I doubt that – if your index page is about Racing Cars & all the other pages are about agriculture then these is a good chance your other pages ‘d suffer from a poor PR.

Toolbar PR is still not affected, maybe just the ranking. Couldn't find anything different yet.

Ogletree,

Based on the fact that you only have one back link what are your SERPs like for that page? Do you have good position for your keywords?

Thanks,
Patrick
