How do you build a website to rank in Google?

do you still use old tricks even though the may or might not work?

i've been at this game for about 2 years. I used to have building a site down to a science for Google. I have created dozens of sites most ranking high before the shake up. Now many remain, but many do not, even though they are using the same techniques. Obviously I do not put all my eggs in one basket no longer but I am curious how people build thier sites when they are focusing on Google.

Same old, same old. Use Brett's 26 steps.

I'm working on a new site since a few months. And everything that is predicted in the 26 steps is still working for me. Title, keyword density, getting links, etc.

I can't tell you about fighting for the top spots with a new site, because I'm still at the point of getting indexed and climbing slowly in the SERPs. But I guess no one can tell you about that part now.

build good url trackers, so you can track your AdWords
buys.
