Duplicate Filter?

my site got hit by a filter in the last update, and my page rank has been zero'd.

apparently the filter that google ran was to check for duplicate content, is this against other domains or in-site duplicate/doorway type pages?

Not the exact answer you are looking for but still on topic.

Have seen a lot of people supposedly hit by a duplicate filter during the last PR update around the 10th of April. Most are certain the only reason is duplicate content though it could be something else.

Some have seen mirror sites and exact duplicates get the grey bar.

Others are seeing that sites on the same IP with the same single phrase are not being returned – google seems to be picking only one of the pages and ignoring the others, though no grey toolbar

Others are claiming their affiliate sites have been dropped for having the same descriptions as all the other affiliates.

Still seeing many sites that are exact duplicate or near duplicate unaffected, could be just matter of time until they are hit or it could be the sites hit so far had other problems.

Anyway can get and idea of what google are trying to achieve by reading this

You say you're site has been 'PageRank Zero'd' but you didn't say if you'd actually lost your rankings?

There could be many reasons your PageRank dropped but if your rankings are the same it's not duplicate content.

Take your page and check its page word density, and if your #1 one word, and #1 two word and #1 three word phrase for a page and if all three of these are exactly the same on more than one of your webpages then the second page is a copy and has no validity to determine website internal page rank and this second page cannot pass its page rank on to another webpage.
Thus the zero pagerank. In other words you cannot receive or pass pagerank from this zero PR page in question.
I would be interested in any of your back-up analysis of this concept.

well my main page has a intro text with my main keywords.

but every subpage repeats the intro text but the main keywords in that text change, depending on what the subpage is about.

i have other sites that do this too but are still in the index.

Sounds like you do not have enough variation of text on each page, so the internal pages are being ignored.
