Links from low PR sites

Is it worth it?

Hi, I am new here and I have a question that I am sure was already discussed but I couldn't find the answer.

I have a site on which most pages have a PR4. In my backlinks from Google, I see the sites that link back to me that have a PR4 (or more).

Does it mean that links from low PR site do not count?

I am always glad to exchange links with other sites that "look good" to me, even if they have a low PR.

Waste of time?

Not a waste of time at all. The links from low PR sites do count, including the boost from anchor text, and they do count for sheer number of pages linking which is particularly good if they're on theme.

If they look good to you and they are good sites, they may be PR6 down the road, and so may you be - from linking to and being linked from quality sites with sincere motives.

More legitimate links can never hurt. PR is only a small component of what a link can do for you. Marcia makes some excellent points and just to add, there's also the advantage of having actual traffic come through those links. Time and time again people focus on PR, but forget that links serve many other purposes as well.

yes, if they are on target related links, everything counts. And what may be low today, may change tomorrow. so yes - defintely worth it.

Thanks for your help! I'll keep working on links then.

The forums on this web site are really excellent!
