How to start a news sites

I already have a small site with all the technology news. I am posting about three new cutting edge news stories everyday.

Google News has accepted my site and all of my news stories get to Google News.

I was wondering since the competition is so tough, would it be good for me to start a news website. I will still write three stories a day and if people are interested I can hire someone to do more stories throughout the day.

How can I promote my news site for free?
