By local I mean the links that google is showing as backlinks from pages that are on your site. Are they the same value as the links from other sites? I have a page on my site that is now showing about 100 backlinks for a fairly competitive keyword I'm optimizaing for, but about 80 of those links are from my site's pages which are PR4-PR5. So will those backlinks be as valuable as the links from the outside sites?

I'd like to see some thoughts from other people on this too. It's been discussed before and the theories change from time to time. What is the latest consensus?

It seems to me that my internal links are as good as links from other sites but it doesn't seem like Google would do it that way.

I do know that internal links help and they also help your visitors find their way around your site. So why not do them? You can also control the link text which helps.

Hi guys:

I don't think they are valued equally by google but I do think they do help. I also have all my sites listed on the bottom of each page which also helps

For PR purpose there is no difference between internal and external links. However, it seems to me that there is a difference in the weigth of anchor text.
