I noticed a strange keyphrase showing up for a google referral in my logs for a phrase which is not on the page. In the course of trying to find out why it would show up for the keyphrase I tried
link:www.mydomain.com/directory/pictures.htm to see where the anchor text was coming from. At the top of the search results was the message, "Tip: Looking for pictures? Try Google Images", with the "Google Images" being a link to a page saying there were no results for the query.
Now that I noticed that i notice the tip whenever my search includes pictures, images, photos, but not galleries. I haven't seen this before.

Tip: Save time by hitting the return key instead of clicking on "search"

Will appear when you click the Google Search button.

Tip: Try removing quotes from your search to get more results.
