If I search by url, I can find my site in google but it appears not to have indexed the whole site and it does not register on page rank. From your experience does it take longer for your whole site to be properly indexed and rated by pagerank?

This is normal.

I've got the same problem. I've had 25 pages indexed by GOogle, and if I do a "site:", the pages all come up, and if I make updates to them, Google does come around to the updated pages, but there'sno page rank, and I don't get my pages on the SERPs either.

google only tends to update the toolbar PR it shows about once a month, if you've got links pointing at your site, you'll have some PR, you just cannot see it yet...

Have you tried seaching for a large section of the text on your page - you might be in the SERP's just not ranking well for your targeted phrases....yet :)

OK, the pages come up if I search for a specific block of text, so you're right, my pages are not ranking well.....yet!

I've got loads of good legit content-related links pointing to the main domain, and the internal pages also contain content-specific outgoing links.

I suppose Google updates it's Pagerank around the middle of the month?

The update interval has never been constant as you can see in the Google Update History [webmasterworld.com]. This update history is not updated anymore because the update of backlinks and PageRank is not such a big event anymore. Until a year ago or so, new pages and sites usually made it in the index during that update (together with updated backlinks and new PageRank). In that time an update had a much bigger effect on the ranking of pages.
