I am always seeing the Google Deutsch logo when I go to Google.com.

I have used my Laptop in Spain and Ireland, but never in Germany. I am pretty sure that I am getting localised German results too.

Any ideas?

This sounds like a DNS problem. This could be due to an entry in your "hosts" file.
Search your system for this file (no extension). Mine is in C:\WINNT\system32\drivers\etc, but I run Windows 2000 (your mileage may vary). If there is an entry for google.com in this file, it will force this domain to always resolve to this hard-coded IP address. If you were one of those webmasters who was looking for the earliest returns on PageRank updates or new Google results, you may have edited your hosts file to point to Google.de

If this is not the problem, it could be caused by your local DNS server... but I doubt it.

To see the IP that your system finds for google.com, go to a command prompt and type "ping google.com"

Also... make sure your system wasn't hijacked by a Browser Helper Object (BHO). Run BHOdemon, and remove or disable anything unfamiliar. AdAware or SpyBot Search and Destroy are good tools also.

Good luck. I hope this helps.

... looks like an incorrect localisation on the google side.
Just hit the link "google.com in English" at the bottom right on the main page to leave the google.de.
You may also check the preferences dialogue for English results and let the google write it to a local cookie on your laptop to remember next time.
