Anybody ever experienced this?
Came into work and was delighted to find my google toolbar now over half-way (6) full with a beautiful green on one of my sites. Only last week it was a miserable 4.
Great, I thought, I must be raking in the wonga by now. But, oh no, what's this. My rankings have dropped quicker than West Indian wickets (a cricket reference for all you Americans out there).
Any ideas? A little re-jiggle in the serps and I'll bounce back up or is google just winding me up.
2 disclaimers:
(1) I am aware PR is not worth as much as it was.
(2) The serp drop happened last week and is for a broad range of keywords.
Can someone post something please
I would look for something that has changed recently, such as a change to your site, or the loss of backlinks, etc., which may have caused your actual PR to drop. If nothing has changed, then presumably its a change in Google algo or just more competition.
I have same problem too.

I would recommend that you not make any drastic changes, just continue adding new pages/content, getting quality backlinks etc.
Our site, index PR6, had some of the inner pages pop back up to a 6 again recently, (they were there for a while in late 2003), but our traffic from G dropped 30% with the latest "non-update" algo tweak, (whatever it was), some days before this. One of our #1 kw serps went to #2 under a PR4 about.com listing, and then soon after, we get a higher general site PR showing in the toolbar. It will probably all change again soon, so it's no big deal.
Steady as she goes; don't change your site just to try to keep up with a constantly changing algo.
