2 pages indexed, but not why arent the rest?

3 weeks ago i redeveloped my site and changed everything from html to .asp.

5 days ago i notied my index page and one other page has been placed on google.

The strange thing is, I have about 40 pages on this site, and the page which has been included is the least most important of all, has the least amount of text on it and just links off to a pdf file (a map)

This page is not on anyone elses site as a backlink, and from my index page is the last page link on the bottom right of my index page.

So why has this page been indexed and none other?
After saying that it does come up on the first page in google for my keyword, so im not complaining, i just dont know why this page is indexed and the other 38 are not!

Googlebot is dumb and sometimes they do this, but why? I don't think even Google really can tell you because like I said their bot is very dumb.

Dumb, your right their!

You optimize a page so all the important pages should be crawled, and then the least important one at the very bottom of the page get indexed?

Makes me wonder why i bother trying to optimize for google in the first place?

3 weeks is nothing. Deep crawls are happening less and less these days. I'd worry if they don't appear after a couple more months.

Also bare in mind that Google doesn't support certain url strings. you were 100% safe with htm files but you better check to see if google can handle the asp strings.
