Hello all, I am really confused by this.

I have a site with a title in the format of

<title>widget tools, city name, country name :: widgeting equipment / widgeter exporter</title>

The page has been crawled and cached by Google recently.

The page appears in search properly for "widget tools, city name, country name" but even when doing an allintitle: search like --

allintitle:widgeting exporter

-- i get no pages found. That is just not possible as the page DEFINITELY has the words in the title! How come? I have been doing SEO for 2 years and have never sen this kind of stuff before. Can anyone help?

Perhaps you've found a bug but it is more likely that allintitle requests are being directed to a different data center. If that data center doesn't have the page in its index then it won't show up.

Of course, this begs the question of why Google would direct such searches to specific data centers. The only answer I can give to that is that Google works in mysterious ways its wonders to perform.

You could be right Kaled. I guess no one has any other ideas, looking at the large number of responses ;-)

Using some of my key phrases, prefixed by either allintitle or allintext (or if I happen to misspell one of the keywords), my page shows at #1 or #2, but when I omit the prefix the page shows way down in the mid-thirties. A week or so ago that same page was at #1 for just the straight correctly spelt unprefixed phrase.
