does anyone know why google returns
different results for each country?
(as for example, if i search a keyword
in one country "google.com" i will get different
results for english web sites in "google.ru")
what could effect something like this?
what are the different sources to each country?

Relevancy!

I don't necessarily want my US based ads showing up in the UK, AUS, Russia, etc.

mike,

are you referring to natural listings, or adwords?

mike green 1276121, just wanted to make sure that you were aware that each advertiser may choose (at the campaign level of the account), in what part of the world those ads will show.

Many advertisers choose 'all countries', while others chose only a few, or even one.

i was not reffering to commercial results
just regular results based from pagerank.
my guess would be: based on the fact
google returns results according to
number of links displayed for the page,
i would say if i search in
www.google.ru
google would give "a higher level" of importance
to the russian links.
your opinion would be ....?

i was not reffering to commercial results just regular results based from pagerank.

This is probably a good opportunity to mention that Google keeps the unpaid 'Search' side of its business 100% separate from the paid 'Advertising' side of its business.

For this reason, although I do work at Google, I'm not trained in the nuances of search related issues at all. Hey, advertising is enough to keep my busy way more than full time!

So, bottom line, I'm not able to answer this question.

Perhaps someone else on the forum can - or perhaps it may need to be answered in another forum on WebmasterWorld focusing on Google Search.

Mike,

hence the reason I asked.

might be worth sending this post to our friends next door in the Google news forum.

they also have AWAs mate GoogleGuy over there to lend a hand.
