My site is no longer indexed - why?

It was #1 in particular search terms but has disappeared now

Sorry if this is the wrong place I looked but could not find a "right" place.

I have a very small site and a narrow target audience but until last week people could find us by using two keywords to search. Now those two words do not find the site at all.

I have only added adsense banners and some new content (after reading carefully about what the engines like and do not like). Everything else is the same!

I am very disappointed. Can anyone give me any tips?

Carolyn, this stuff happens every now and then. Google changes it's index almost daily, from reading what GoogleGuy has to say about it.

Concentrate on getting more content (i.e. things users would like to read).

Since Google knows about your site, new content just may help you!

I am writing new content but it is slow going with a toddler underfoot :)

The problem is that the main content of the site is the interaction on the forum. I am compiling an FAQ based on questions and answers given in the forum.

Any tips on how to get google to come see new content?

Hi Carolyn,

Your site is still in the index. There is a cache of your index page. How long has your site been up? Did you loose PR? As mentioned above, just get more content and incoming links. Google seems to be adjusting the way they do business these days, and it's anyone's guess what is to come.

Try to get rid of the sid=<sessionhash> in your php forums. That will definately open up a ton of content for the spiders.
