Is PR effected by a link from a page to a jpg or MM_openBrWindow link?

Is PR passed through a link to a jpg or through links to a popup html page?

Hi,

I am considering putting some links on my site from html pages directly to jpg images. From thumbnail images to larger images. Does Google take this into account when PR from a page is passed on to all the links going out from a page?

Also when a link is of the form:

onmousedown="MM_openBrWindow('pagename.html','','width=400,height=520')">text on link</A>

Does Google take these links into account when dividing up PR flowing out from a page?

Thank you for comments.

As far as I know Google only follows href links for its index. There has been speculation that they are now following links in forms e.g. action=/example/example.html but nothing to suggest that PR is lost to images.

Obviously Google, Yahoo, Lycos etc. all have image search indexes so your image pages would be indexed and shown there but I have never seen an image with PR.

I don't believe PR is passed to images or to pages using the code you have just specified.

Static links are your best bet, but in general I wouldn't be surprised if Googlebot fetched urls it could find in JavaScript. In general, if we follow a link (e.g. for web crawl or image crawl) then it's a pretty good assumption that we can take it into account for PageRank calculation purposes..
