Is google still update pr and backlink every 5 or 6 weeks

Does any one know if Google still makes pr and backlink update every 5 or 6 weeks. It seem a long time since i saw any change in my pr. I have made good improvement in terms of backlink with higher pr but i do not see any change. Thanks for any clue
