No pass over of PageRank?

Directory with PR 7, but none of the linked sites got a bit of the PR

We have got a MetaSearchengine with a PR 7. Within this meta engine is a directory that links to our clientpages.
I noticed last year that none of these clientpages got a bit from the high PR of the directory, and I thought I have to be more patient. Now, a few month later, I think more and more that the directory has been punished - but not like "banned from the index", but like "no pass over" of the PR.

(Of course: all pages are static, no dynamic or sessionID stuff.)

Have anybody else seen this?

Hi,
There are quite a few directories and other high PR web sites that are being punished in a similar way. They retain their PR, but don't seem to transfer anything to web sites they link to.

Are they showing up when checking backlinks of the sites they link to?

I like to think of Google having 3 types of pagerank :

Good PR : a site which passes pr freely, pr9 linking to you and next update your a pr8

No PR : I have seen sites which show up in the back links and pass NO pr what so ever, methinks Google blocks PR passing on sites which sell pr.

Bad PR : sites which been banned or heavily penalised passing the pens on to sites that they link to or having negative effect on PR on linking sites

Remember this is what i like to THINK it's not Fact!

Unfortunately no. They no longer show in backlinks, but you will be surprised how many people there are, who see good PR and pay the inclusion fee, just to realize later that they get no referrals and no PR transferred.

No, there are no backlinks.

DaveN, good list. My assumption, too. But I didn't think, that I'd put into this basket, too.
(Hope dies at least...)

I am curios about how to find out which sites are selling.
