Re. Our Google position: I'm just trying to figure out why our homepage position has drastically fallen recently for certain key word phrases I know the recent updates might have contributed, but a lot of our competitors have stayed the same, and I do know that our sector wasn't dramatically hit by the updates.

So, I'm just wondering if the tweaks generally have looked at our keyword density and decided it's too high?

Does anyone know if there are a maximum number of times keywords should appear - the site has good, relevant content, it's just that the keywords naturally crop up a lot because of what we’re writing about :)

That said we could work to reduce them if anyone can suggest this might help?!

The same keywords might be over-done in our Title/Description meta-tags, and altogether I'm wondering if this could account for the changes - anyone have any ideas/thoughts please. All help gratefully received. Thank you in advance :)

How often did you update the site? Was the content fresh. Check the latest cache of the page and try to evaluate your KW density. What Overall KW density of your site?

I can think of a huge number of counter-examples where this causes no problems, and the page is ranking at #1 or near so.

I can site several examples too, mainly for the keywords or phrase that I'm trying to get to the first page of.
