Duplicate content and Google.

Creating a new site in a directory that was spidered by Google

We are working on a new look for our website under a directory that is not linked to anywhere on the site, when we are done we will replace all the old site with the "new look". I noticed the googlebot has found it and spidered many of the pages, it is all duplicate to what is on our site. Is this something I should worry about, do I need to change something?

I would exclude the directory by using robots.txt than it will never appear an Google and you don't have to fear a duplicate content penalty.
