wow...

would never have believed it if i hadn't seen it. we finally launched our new site two weeks ago. put one link in from our pr 6 main site and another link in from a pr 4 site of ours and yesterday google updated its index with ALL 600 pages. and we went from 50 daily visitors on tuesday to nearly 400 on wednesday! WHOOPPEE

and we are still not in the top 200 for our 'main' keyword - it is all two and three word combinations.

i know not everyone is too fond of google at the moment, so i don't mean to boast - just really happy :-))

we've done nothing special except follow the golden rules [webmasterworld.com] and put in those links from our main sites.

off out for a jar or two ;-)

Exact same experience here with a new 1,500 page site. Not ranking anywhere for main keywords, but getting good business from other combinations.

(P.S. Congratulations Jamie!)

I changed the links/header on a page, within a day got 50,000 hits. ;-) Google works very fast these days. Very very fast.

Yep, a PR6 backlink will do wonders for quick indexing.

Hi,

Just a small splash of cold water.

You are sure that this isn't a Freshbot thing aren't you. I put up a little 5 page test site a few weeks ago to test out some theories. It went to #1 for some three word terms for about two weeks and then slowly slipped out of SERPs.

Perhaps give us a report back in acouple of months.

Good luck, I do hope that it does stick but I have a bit of doubt.

Best wishes

Sid

thats what it sounds like to me, G is nice at doing that she pulls you in for a short while then dumps you till the next update, I personally would much sooner wait a few weeks rather than have a site sucked in then thrown back out for a few weeks while she updates

Sounds like freshbot, also if it just non relevant
traffic now, it's a bad thing.
Are the keywords in refferals the right kind of keywords? Are people disappearing from your site in seconds?

The no of hits, is not as important, it's the "quality" of the hits...
