Twice in the past month, the powers that be decided they wanted different URLs for a large collection of pages. Each time, I did this:

1) set up the pages at new locations
2) put "301 moved permanently" headers where the old pages were
3) excluded the old locations in my robots.txt file
4) linked the new locations into the rest of the site

What I want to know is... did I do it right? I don't want to be slammed for "duplicate content", and I'm concerned that the Googlebot might not enjoy following a daisy-chain of 301 redirects.

Any specific advice would be warmly welcomed.

thanks!
