Logo missing in cache and ranking went way up!

This is so strange and I really wonder if this is related. After two months of my index page being dropped from 3 to 300's for my main two word keyword, now I am at number 47 for that keyword phrase. Also, the actual title of my site used to be number one for a popular three word phrase and had dropped to 30. Now it is at number one again.

These changes occured today or late last night. I checked the cache of my page and the logo that has my title has a red x and the logo does not show up in cache. Do you think that is why I jumped in rankings. And if that is the case, what do I do because eventually my logo will show up on the cache again. I am so happy but worried.
Thanks

I am seeing some of my competitors sites that went from top 5 to nowhere, then to top 100 are now being re-introduced into the top 10.

Seems like some some minor update or algo tweak.

Well lets hope this is a trend. Initially after Florida, I was nowhere to be found and then ended up in the 300's. Number 47 is not great but certainly better than in the 300's.

Then again, this could all disappear tomorrow! At least I know it's happening to others so I won't blame it on my "little red box" LOL

Hi Conroy,
"possibly alt text?"

How would that apply to the logo missing in cache. Sorry I probably should know but I don't. :)

One of my sites' index page was 499 yesterday. Today is 380. I like the change!

I've just made a post about that, I think their cache (along with keywords) reverted back few weeks..

I think you must have deleted the logo image from your server. Google caches only the text from your server, so i see no connection between your logo and higher traffic / ranking.

I thnk too it is unrelated. i am also seeing sites that got whacked by Florida return to lofty positions early this morning.

Well, I think it's related...Here is how...

Google cache reverted back to few weeks ago. I've changed the file name of my logo since than...

fx, it was corplogo.jpg few weeks ago but it's corp_logo.jpg now... everything was fine.. then google reverted back and now it's reverted back cache calls for corplogo.jpg which is unavailable, so red X.

That for certain, google database is at the exact same place where it was few weeks ago...so that's why rankings also reverted back...

I'm not sure if that's done intentionally or because of some kind of failure or upgrade...

The Google cache reverts back to what has become known as the default cache, which is the cache of your page that exists when there is no fresh date next to your listing. This is the cache of your page as it was indexed during the last deep crawl. So while it certainly may be related (guess I misspoke earlier), I don't think there is a cause and effect relationship between your logo's filename and your improved ranking.
