Why do I keep dropping out of google?

So weird!

Basically every month or so I drop into google, then back out. This happens with 2 sites, hosted on the server (two completely different sites mind you). I have emailed google once about being banned, and they assured me that I wasn't.

Any ideas why, or how to help it stay in google more permanently? It did have plenty of links to it previously.

First thing, you could check the downtime on that server. In and out can be sign of too much downtime at the wrong times.

I'm not sure how bad it is now, but when my site went live, I went up and down in Google (by hundreds of places) for several months. Stability was not achieved until I had a toolbar PR > 0. How long has your site been live?

Kaled.

What exactly do you mean by dropping out? Your site not showing in the SERPs, or literally not being in the index anymore?

Are positions lower after being dropped out? I noticed a few sites which had dropped out and their positions never reached what they used to be, prior to the server downtime.
So if your positions get lower, it could indeed point to server downtime.

Another possibility I can think of: some sites dynamically create links to other sites, so every time the page is viewed the links change. Maybe G sometimes spiders the other sites, misses your link, and lowers your sites ranking.
