My dynamic pages with 1-3 variables have a pr of 0 (white toolbar) instead of pr~3.
These pages are online since approx. 8 weeks and are indexed.

Now I wonder if they will only need more time or weather it's a matter of the variables with the consequence that I need url rewrtiting in some form.

After a lot of reading I found different opinions and would much appreciate definite advise, if possible.

Thanks

Hi fritz and welcome!

These pages are online since approx. 8 weeks and are indexed

It can take some months until PR is displayed.

However, there are also some general problems with the PR shown in the toolbar for dynamic pages as explained in this thread [webmasterworld.com]. This phenomenon just effects the PR shown in the toolbar but not the real PR or the ranking.

Also, some problems arise using too many variables or session id's. But in these cases, the pages are not indexed.

Rewriting URLs won't hurt. Probably it will solve your problem but doesn't affect the ranking.

8 weeks is too short, be patient.

OTOH: does the index page show PR? (Often the index page won't be recognized as being dynamic).
Also keep in mind, that session ids must be disabled (at least for googlebot).
