Hello All,

I have a site, [domain.org,...] it is listed in ODP directory.
And after one month it got listed in ODP, the site was listed in Google Directory.

Within the category there are three sites, obviously the other two are my competitors.

When I perform the keyword search at Google using "***".
Google shows the category name I'm in above the results.

The two competitors rank #1 & #2.
But mime is in about Page 4 (#80+).

The two competitor sites all with category name and description (the same words as in the category)

My site doesn't show the category and description.

I doubt if it's this that makes my site so far behind.

What decides google to show a site's category and description? (after a site is listed in its directory)

------------- Google Directory ------
Category Name: mmmm
Website Listing:
Site aaa
Site bbb
My site

------------- Search At Google -------
(Use our keywords)

Category: mmmm
Search results:
# 01 Site aaa
Category Name:mmmm
# 02 Site bbb
Category Name:mmmm

# 80 My site

Thank you in advance!

I have a site that's been listed in ODP for about six months, listed in Google Directory for about two months, and I don't see the description or category for my site, either. It just takes time, I guess.

The last category and description update was in June.

Hopefully there's another update around the corner.

Google is in a total mess - who cares about ODP /DMOZ - or even page rank?
