Hi Folks,

I had a PR6 before the Florida and that dropped to 5 afterwards. Normally the home page has a high rank and the pages below it are down 1 rank which has been my case since the google toolbar came out.

Yesterday:
Homepage: PR5
Other pages: PR4 and some PR3

Today:
Homepage: PR5
All other pages: PR5

Today I noticed that my entire business site is PR5 but so is the home page.

Does this sound like I could be getting my PR6 back again on the home page soon and has anyone else seen this happening before where a whole site is one PR?

Simon.

I'd guess it's because you are a high five. Hopefully it will stick for you.

Are all the 5s linked to your homepage or do they go deeper? I've had my homepage and the pages it links to the same but usually if the page is deeper the PR goes down.

Hi Simonuk,

I had the same thing happen to my website. All the main pages went to a PR value of 5 and about a week or two later my home page had a PR value of 6.

I just hope I can keep the home page there. :)

simonuk: depends whether your backlinks / the PR of your backlinks have been fluctuating.

Probably you have a "high" PR5, as annej mentioned. Since Google's algo weighs pages on a continuous scale (and not in steps of 1 like the toolbar PR) it's often no difference in ranking whether it's a high PR5 or low PR6.
