Different serps in "link to" and "contain the term"

Hi,
Do a search for:
somedomain.com
typically you get :
google cache
similar to
link to
contain the term

Here is my question. Why would you get diffrent results in the last 2?
Normally "contain the term" are mosly sites linking to the domain and have a pr of less than 4. Why the higher pr's are not showing up higher like they do in "link to"?
I know there are other factors than pr involved but for a search of
somedomain.com
What other factor can be more important than the pr?

Queries google for pages with PageRank 4 and above that link to the page in question.

contain the term
Queries google for pages with the text in question. This is not dependant on PageRank.

Doing a query for "contains the term" with a url/[link text commonly used] will bring up all pages that mention the url/[link text commonly used], even if it is _not_ a hyperlink.
