Adjacent Links Now Affect Links to Your Site?

I have a superpage on a particular domain name, with subdomains under it. Each of my subdomains is on a separate topic, and my pages are just informational pages (non-profit). At the end of each subpage of the subdomains there are two links right next to each other: one that links back to the subdomain main page, and a second that links back to the superpage. When i do a search for the name of the superpage (a simple word, unrelated to any of the subdomain subjects), my highest-pr'd subdomain shows up in the search results, and in fact above the superpage itself.

This seems different from what google was doing before - i think it was just the link to your page and the *text* surrounding it. It now appears that adjacent links too are a factor.

:bUMp:

has anyone else noticed this? On a search for my username in google (which is also my domain), my fourth dimension page shows up in the top 10 results. On my fourth dimension page, the only place my username appears is in the link to my domain name. On other (internal) pages that link to my fourth dimension page, my username only appears in links which are adjacent to the links that point to my fourth dimension page. These adjacent links point to my domain name. No links to my fourth dimension page have my user name in the text, just the url.
