Can someone explain why an Australian Website thinks it's snows at Christmas?
Sometimes the Americancentric Universe gets on my goat!
Just did a search for Australian christmas cards. The top result from a .co.au site has a banner with
...wait for it...
Lots of lovely fir trees covered in snow!
LOL :)
p.s. the literal translation of solstice is 'Sun still' or 'Sun stands still.' This was noticed by the ancients. In the N hemisphere it rises & sets progressively North of due E and due W until around 21/22 December, where this apparent movement halts (Sun-still, Solstice) Shortest day in N hemisphere, longest in S hemisphere. After the solstice its rising and setting tracks back toward due E and W, until it hits them at equinox (equal day/night length) and then heads S towards the Summer solstice where in the N hemisphere its now midsummer with the longest day and all the hippies go to stonehenge to drink mead and read Tolkien. Situation is reversed in the S hemisphere. The Poles are a special case, the Sun is above the horizon during summer, below in Winter, and circles on the horizon like a continuous twilight during an equinox.

It'll be funny if tomorrow we're discussing whether the doodle is a metaphor for the increasing industrialization of our world and how that impacts quality of life.
Ha! GG knew about the spewing snowplow before it went live.
Sometimes a snowman is just a snowman.
I'm still moving forward on my plans for a Doodle Dance Tool. ;)
