Backlinks not reckognized

Why doesn't Google see my backlinks from the ODP?

My website has been listed in the ODP for a few weeks now. The ODP site has since been updated in Google. When I look at the cached site in Google, I see my website listed. However, the link does not show up in Google. The category I'm listed in has a page rank of 6, and I tried searching for my URL with and without the www., with and without /, with and without /index.html. So I really think that the link should show up, shouldn't it? When I search for my site's ODP description, I get lots of results in Google, all from ODP clones.

Any advice?

I've got exactly the same problem. My site is the only one in my dmoz/google directory category that google hasn't recognised the backlinks for. All of these other sites are PR5 or higher whilst my site is still stuck at PR2 - irritating as many of the sites added in the last rf dump were lower in PR than me at the time.

I can't figure out why google is 'discriminating' against my site either! I presume google will get around to righting it at some point.

Google updates the backlinks & PageRank with an interval of about 1 month because it takes quite some time to recalculate the PageRank of all the 3B+ pages in their index. Last update was around December 6. So if Google used an older version of the spidered ODP page to calculate the PR, then you just have to wait for the next update. It is also possible that the link was found but it doesn't show up. The link-command is not showing all links (depends also to some extend on the PageRank of the page with the link and the PageRank of the page being linked).

This was unlikely to be the cause in my case as I was in dmoz before a lot of new sites in the category that are showing new dmoz backlinks in google. A PR boost around the first week of january would be lovely though! An ideal time for the industry that I'm in!

My PR5 site has been in DMOZ for weeks/months now, but not listed in Google Directory. Eagerly waiting for Google to update its directory.
