Our site has been mentioned a couple of times on mail groups which get archived. Some of these pages of PR5 or even 6 yet I can't find them on backward links. I've also looked at other sites that are mentioned and nothing

Does Google ignore PR from mail archives?

Thanks for the response it was about 4 months ago the first one and there has been several since

In general, I think they are counted. There may be a nofollow on the message board, or they may be using some kind of redirection to prevent passing PR.

Is there any way of telling if they are stopping PR from being passed, when you hover over a link it looks like a clean straight link?

If the page really has PR 5 or 6 and the links on this page are 4 months old I would check all other links on that page.

If any page that is linked to shows a backlink from the page you are on then PR is passed.

I have tried doing that and it would appear that none show up, that is why I wondered how it is done as it is a clean link and the page has PR
