I had a site with 100 pages indexed in Google. However, they indexed my IP address and not my domain name, so I did a 301 redirect.

Google removed all pages except for the index page.

I thought they were supposed to keep the pages in the index and only change the address. The paths are the same.

It has been nearly three weeks since the 301 and four days since they removed the pages.

Thanks in advance.

How long did it take for the URLs to change in your case? I have done 301, the PR is updated with baclinks but the pages have not been removed yet

I think what they do is remove the old page, and place the new url in a queue for crawling. The more high-PR links you have to your home page, the faster your site will be crawled.

I had a new 5-page site with an inbound PR6 link, and it was crawled fully in days.
