Google now has a shortcut to track packages / shipments.
I guess it works with UPS, Fed Ex and USPS.

[google.com...]
That is the UPS tracking number of my Ipod which was delivered today (c:

Just type it into the main search, toolbar, or deskbar and there is your info. It will be nice for us that are buying things online this holiday season.

Doesn't look like they are actually tracking anything.

A ups number is pretty unique, it's like 18 digits, and prefixed with a 1Z. So when you do a search that looks like a UPS number, they can show a link to the tracking page of UPS with the input you specified.

Congrats on the Ipod btw :)

No, he said it was a shortcut.

That's pretty cool. It might help some not so Web savvy customers.

With Google's Search by Number you can also search for patent numbers, FCC equipment ID's and aircraft registration numbers.

They also introduced Travel Conditions for delays and weather conditions at airports. Just insert the airport's 3 letter code and the word airport. Not sure what this one is supposed to show as I don't see any difference yet.
