Just after florida update, I've been noticing some snippet changes in Google.
Before, it use to show snippets only where the query is found, now, its showing snippets (for some pages) where the query isn't found , its the first line of the page, AFAIK, it didn't used to be like this, and I DON'T LIKE IT!

I'm talking about the snippets, eg. (They are Bold, Highlighted):

Which changes sometimes.

Welcome to the broad-match and stemming operators :)

I have got specific pages for each plural of words. Now Google is showing the singular for the plural phrase or vice versa. Only issue is that the snippet still likes using the actual words in the phrase - and pages for the singular don't have good matches for the plural. I have had to rehash many of my pages.

You have to very regularly keep track of what Google shows, and what users see when they have done searches.

On other pages I have found it very hard to figure out why Google is returning a certain snippet. It may take the second or third instance of the phrase. Google likes the phrase in a sentence with the phrase repeated very shortly after. But not always easy to keep it gramatically correct when you are targetting several phrases on the same page. ie "Saint ..." and "St ...", "Mount ..." and "Mt ..."

Overall better result - I need less pages, and I'm top for more pages.

Does it show the same snippet for each search or is it random?

Does it show the same snippet for each search or is it random?

actually, its neither random nor same everytime, it does the following:
After sorting out the results, it searches for snippets where the query is found and displays the snippets only where the query is found, this is the was-google , but now, for some searches, it doesn't try to find the query in the page for sorting out snippets, instead, its just showing the first line.

I said some of the queries/results...
let me give an example:
[google.com...]
Result #7 (17k size)

This is not happening to all the results of that query, but this is taking over Google very rapidly...
If you notice and go to the "Cached" version of result #7, there is no keyword called "widgets", my problem was the snippets, but now, its even the results!

If you look at the top of the cache it tells you:

These terms only appear in links pointing to this page: widgets

Btw, don't look at results for things like "click here" if you don't like seeing these types of serps ;)

1st of all, I wasn't talking about the "click here" result, I was talking about the following result:
"Entertainment & Arts :: Putts.com
Putts.com is a comprehensive guide for all your Entertainment and Arts
needs. Whether you're looking for information on movies, sports ...
www.putts.com/ - 17k - 8 Dec 2003 - Cached - Similar pages "

second of all:

If you look at the top of the cache it tells you:
These terms only appear in links pointing to this page: widgets

where exactly is the word "widgets found on the "result #7, 17k, 8 dec page?
