Anybody ever seen anything like this before?

Seems a bit odd but makes me happy. I have never seen Googlebot on a forum before like this. I think I should go change my phpBB forum to something else :D

It's real easy to spoof being googlebot, there are plugins for mozilla that allow changing the user agent.

I've done this to check sites that are doing a really bad job of cloaking their content. I know that a couple of times, I have forgotten to turn off the googlebot UA and hit a few more sites before switching back.

Google has trouble with session ID's and other common bothersome issues with forums, but other than that it will treat a forum like a regular webpage and visit it, try to spider it, index it, and do everything else it would do with a regular webpage. So you'll see the bot in your logs on your forum.

But if you have any actual members named GoogleBot lurking on your forum than obviously thats just a member with the name Googlebot and has nothing to do with Google.

If there are only 2 members online than why are there 3 usernames on the list? A guest user doesn't have a username so what you just typed is false.

Are you am employee/fan of Invision Board trying to get people to switch from phpBB? lol...
