hey

on a few of our sites that were ranking yesterday / day before etc, a couple of them are getting googlebot through.. but awstats is reporting that googlebot has hit about 3 pages with 0 bandwidth used.

then checking all these sites that are reporting the 0 bandwidth factor --- they have all dropped off for there ranking terms and a few of the sub-pages of the sites have completely lost there cache and are just reporting "similar pages" and not the cache.

anyone else noticing this?
could this be just a crap crawl for the freshbot on 4th dec?
all are 4th dec.. that are reporting this..
if you type in www.domain.com you'll find the sites, but all have completely dissapeared for what they were ranking for a day or 2 ago.

Hi nuthin, welcome to WebmasterWorld.

I saw your post went unanswered, and think I know what you might be seeing.

Have you looked at the actual log file? Depending on your server's set up, it could return a 304 (meaning the page was unchanged, so use the copy you have) to Googlebot. If your page has changed it will serve a 200 along with the updated page.

Hope this helps.
