OK. I was banned in December 2001 because of link farms. Just in the beginning of 2002 I have removed these pages, quit these "services", but PR0/0 links remained. I spent the whole year with cleaning up my pages (mostly with help of WebmasterWorld and G's guide lines). I succeeded with PR1/0 links...
In this year I got to PR3/but still 0 links in June, but then it suddenly dropped to the good old starting point (0/0)

I don't use any spammy trick, frankly nothing.
I sent 3 emails to Google during these 2 years: automated replies assured me that I was not banned/penalized (I was not in the first 200, though ranked on the first page before Dec 2001).
I'm listed in ODP, Yahoo since 2000.

One month ago I decided to write my last email. I put "reinclusion request" in the subject line, and began to wait. 4 days later (it gave me hope..) I received a personal email. They appreciated my patience, and told:

We understand your concern and have passed your
message on to our engineering team for further investigation.

3 weeks have passed by..
It's a very short time comparing to 2 years...but..

Is anybody here still suffering from the same affect? Is it just another automated reply or did "engineering team" really help anybody in this forum? Or is it really a life sentence?

It may take some time but it's a good sign! One of my "chronically penalized" sites got "passed on to engineering" and has been reincluded with Florida, so far... ;) It took about six weeks if memory serves.
