Hi,

I have two domains with PR6 and PR5

1. domain registration website PR6
2. web designing website PR5

Now, I am starting to build new websites on other domain names. Can I put a link of these two websites on the new ones at the bottom without getting penalized

The links will be something like this

Website Designed By PR5 Link, Domain Name registered By PR6 link

Looking for your replies.

Regards,

I don't think it'd do very much for either of the sites, but give it a shot :D

No biggie at all. As long as the rest of the site is in good order - go for it.

I too am preparing to cross link our company's 2 web sites and had the same question. This seems pretty safe to me but I thought it might be good to ask what others do in this situation so I don't mess us up. We're doing pretty good right now for our KW's.

Company web site 1 with URL 1: markets widgets
Company web site 2 with URL 2: markets different widgets

We currently only have 2 or 3 links at each site cross linking to the other site.

QUESTION:
Is it ok to have a cross link to the other site on each of the 40 (or so) web pages on both sites? In other words, would we be penealized by Google (or any other SE) for doing this?

Thanks,
John

Well, it's okay to cross link your websites. But, keep in mind, you will then be building a kind of network websites, this is how they call.

When all your websites are linking to each other or cross linking as you say, it becomes a network of websites. It certainly has some advantages and disadvantages.

Advantage is what you are getting now and disadvantage is what you MAY get when either of your website is penalized, the affect will be visible on all your websites. The PR6, PR5, the new ones, alll will show the up/down effect.

Think Long Term. And then you may not do what I say in the first line. Good Luck. :-)

But then you have Brett_Tabke's vote. It's like Yes, but a careful one.

Just don't overdo it. Let's say you've got 10 domains, and 5 of them are selling different types of widgets. You should definitely interlink the ones that are selling widgets, but don't include the other 5. That's what they call a link farm, which might get you PR-0 or dropped from the index all together.

I will agree with nakulgoyal that making a network will get you into trouble.

Even from googles point of view, you might get a penalty. The problem is the same ip stuff. The reason is many people can misuse it.

But still nothing sure about it.

I am probably penalised for interlinking of few sites on same IP, all 5 sites linking to each other (but from index pages only).

I linked them logically as all deal in diff. products...so had a GOOD intention of real referals.

Later I realized...it has invited sorta penalty.
Google no longer count any Backlinks to those sites and 3 of them have PR 0 now.

its al recent... a week back

Any suggestion..as how I can make come back? Google is also not spidering them these days.

My case and point.

I got a request to crosslink with eight on-topic PR6 websites, each on a different server. The catch is that the cross-linking applies to every page of every site. I have declined, but all of these sites are surviving this update where most sites got slaughtered. Any thoughts?

Kirby, will you also be giving the links from each and every page to these eight sites? If it is a reciprocal multiple linking, then donot do it.

If I would have coded for the G algo, I would have spoted that as a spam. But if they link to you and you link to them from another site, doesnt harm might help in short run.
