Pages still in with PR but no Description or Title!

4000+ pages all retaining their PR but no Desc nor Title

I dont know whats happened, but sometime around the 21st of Oct. the titles and descriptions for 4000+ (all) of my pages just disappeared along with of course my positions! The PR for the time being is holding strong but what the hell could be going on here. Spiders havent been by for more than 2 weeks now.

Hi! First post also!

I have a similar situation. I created a lot of new pages and they all got indexed and were ranking very well, almost 85 of pages total.

However, most of them had temporary contents saying that this page will be up soon. And as I filled out the contents of the pages, they started disappearing. Here si the course of actions:

1. two days ago my pages start reducing to about 70. Then they start loosing their description and titles and just showing the URLs.

2. This afternoon, almost 30 minutes ago, I was back to almost 80 pages but the titles and descs were still gone for most of the pages.

3. Just now that I checked I am down to 13 pages only a few without titles and descs.

Now I am hoping this is just a reindexing thing, but the partial index makes no sense to me, since my pages WERE up and ranking well up until 2 days ago.

But I am wondering abotu one thing. since my pages were just a month or two old, I heard that google has two different databases, one for freshly indexed pages and one for the rest. I am wondering if this happened since google is transfering those pages into the main databases form Fresh crawl.

Any input?

Just an update!

Now, only 4 hours after my previous post, all my 84 pages are back in google, mostly with urls as titles, but a few have actually gained their titles and descriptions back.

However, none of them are ranking in the top as they used to, yet.

Not sure if this is related... but during the florida update i noticed a strange thing with one of my pages displaying the snippet from another page of my site - the snippet was related but page was unrelated to the search phase.

It seemed that google had taken my pages apart and had put them back together in wrong order.

Ok, today one of my sites was back while two others remain with no description or title.

Weird thing is..
when I seaech for mi site, Google is now listing other search engine pages like about.com or webprowire (only to mention two of them) with a search run by someone of my site, and yes.. there you can reach my site :s
.. I mean, it is showing another search engine's listing of my site.

In the meantime Google answered my request: they sent me to a webmasters forum!

still np spiders its truly riduculous that google could screw this up this bad. GG is just not responding to this serious issue shame really i guess Google is quite red faced about it.

more and more people are complianing about this and they get an automated response of "partial indexing" when contacted directly.

I contacted google but only got the standard reply which is really useless.

i wonder if the sites that were deleted will ever come back again. i lost 3 sites in total, the sites took a year to build up in links and it was just paying off.

GG is there some way we could send you a report with a coded subject. I have stickied you in the past and no response and have sent over 20 emails to Google with nothing but automated responses that dont address the situation. I am sure you are busy but now with the florida update discussions slowing down I though we could address this issue as it has been dragging on for months now. My PR is still intact however the 823 pages that are now in the index are old and most dont even exist. Nothing has changed and since the spiders just arent coming I dont expect anything to change soon unless some manual intervention happens.

i emailed googleguy just the other day about my sites not being indexed although they have prs of 6,6 and 4.

Just got a response of him and can't reply back becuase his message box is too full.

Update! Update!

I changed my IP address to another one in the same C-Class. My site got indexed after the change was propagated to all the DNS's. however, I still have the same problems:

• Urls instead of titles
  
• Less pages indexed than before
  
• No high rankings like I had before
  

I am hoping that the new data that Googlebot indexed on the Christmas Eve is still not in the main DB.

Did anybody else who was waiting for indexing try a slight IP change?

changed everything 3-4 times nothing seems to work. I submitted 15,000 pages to google over the past week as a last ditch resort. Actually more as a protest than anything :(.

the key thing to watch here is spider activity, are you seeing anything?

still i have no spider activity and the same old 823 pages are still in this goofy index. The pages are from some "supplimental results" are your pages showing the green "Supplimental results" tag by the listing?

Just to let you know this problem is not over, just seen one of my sites with the same problem, no Description or Title, just showing the url, this is very strange, all was ok up to a couple of days ok.

Just when you think nothing else can go wrong!

Just got googlebot 2.1 to access my site 29/12 but yestoday i had no googlebot activities.

it was the first access to my site in over a month from googlebot. i thought it was a good sign. how often does googlebot acess a site, everday?

NEWS FLASH

15 new pages have been added to the index NEW I REPEAT NEW I REPEAT NEW!

so for all Datacenters EXCEPT -kr i now have 838 pages in the index. The old 823 cr*p listings are still there but there is an ADDITIONAL 15 new pages as well!

The interesting thing is -kr shows only my new 15 pages in that datacenter where as the other datacenters are showing both old and new.

The only PROBLEM is the one big one i expected, NO PAGE RANK 0 :(:(

Oh well im back in and I would think the spiders will once again start crawling. I'm having some problems with my stats server so i havent been able to check for the past week whether googlebot has been by or not and my tech boys are all on holiday so I will have to wait a few days.

But i am ecstatic about this. I was so close to switching to a new domain, this should save me big bucks.

initially that was my situation as you can read through this thread 10,000 pages inthe index all without title or discription the band gone then back with title and desc with 833 pages but old old old infact non existant even i mean never existed. Now we have this situation all my PR had stayed at 7 but now its gone as of today but i have 15 actual pages in the index.

actually I see that 2 other sites that are in the top 5 in our industry have also suffered the same fate. Interestingly enough none of them are in -kr. What am I going to do? I have no idea other than baske in the sun and hope that Google hasnt applied yet another penalty on my site after i get indexed. Its looking more and more like some google fingering has gone on here, I am just wondering what it was that got me back and not several of my competitors.

Hmmm..baske in the sun. I wish you and I could baske in ease. This needs to be sorted if you we want to enjoy the sun. But for now, I guess all you and I can do is wait and watch.

I too am suffering the same fate here.

Starting to ses pages vanishing from the index on about the 15th December, now out of 300+ only showing 20, 19 of these just the URL, only 1 page showing a description.

I did however have problems, down several times in late November and also had a robots.txt that returned a 403 error.

Still the situation seems the same, all pages showing good PR, only URL's showing no description etc, also for some reason [mydomain.com...] is showing when we search for all our pages in Google.

Just sit and wait and maybe your site might come back.

Ican confirm that most (not al) of my homepages are experiencing the "slow death" syndrome in the sense that their rankings are slowly getting lower and lower.

I have done a test and managed to get the missing title and description by doing the following.

Set up a permanent redirect to another one of our sites, after 2 weeks I now have the symptoms you are all describing...

So it looks like a redirect has bearing here...

The site in question that is dissapearing is good news for me because I want it to pick up the redirected site which was lost in November....still waiting but at least its showing some potential.

I have recently removed all parked domains that redirected to my lost site as Google hand wrote to me (Yes a real person after I nagged for ages) and they said off the record that I may want to remove any domains pointing to my lost site...dupe content etc.....
