So I run a site and I am trying to figure out how to optimize my site for google. I have 100-125 link exchanges going. Is this bad for google? I saw on the google guidliness that it should be fewer then 100. If it is really bad how much can you get penalized for it and what kind of penalties do they have? I am listed on alot of yahoo groups is this considered an incoming link? Does google spider the groups? The sites that I am linking to are in sort of a group. They are owned by different webmasters but they all linked to each other. Some of the webmasters own 4-5 sites. Would this be bad for our sites since they don't get many links from outside sites? Would google remove these sites from their listing for being spammy or just lower their ranking? Ok last question. I use hosted content with linking codes on my site. Does google think this is bad since it is not actually hosted on my site? Thanks for any answers you guys can give me.
Thanks,
Rick
You're confusing this with Google advising having no more than 100 links on any given page. If you have more than that, break it up into more pages.
Reciprocal links are fine for now at least; one-way themed links are always better IMO.
