A couple of weeks ago I started a thread saying that 'Imagebot' was very active - and many others noticed this too. A week or so after I noticed this, our PR went from 5 to 6 and with Imagebot and Googlebot still visiting our site every day, we have dropped significantly from the new SERPS. Hopefully this is a temporary matter as we have held #1 for all of our keywords for 18 months (and longer for many of the keywords).

Has anyone else noticed this pattern - if there is one - and does anyone think that there could be a link between (maybe) the ALT of the images and perhaps an attempt by G to use images (and their titles) as a key factor in determining any new SERPS?

I hope not as we have so many images that we have to code them (our image subjects are all very similar)but what do you think........

It's possible/probable it plays a very minor role in their algo, but IMO very unlikely it plays a key factor in the serps. It is just too easy to spam.
