I just had a site slip out - cache, title and description were gone a few weeks after the site was moved. I checked and somehow during the move the syntax of robots.txt ended up with an error.
Run the site through the robots.txt validator [searchengineworld.com] just to double check for that first.
It can also be server down-time at the wrong time, and sometimes there can be a temporary glitch on either end.
Is the site still showing toolbar PR for all the pages?
Google still shows PR on my pages as normal: PR6 on both the home page and first layer down and PR5 for most pages on my site.
Is it possible to be penalized by Google and still show high PR...or is something else happening at Google that I should just sit and wait for a return?
Also, anyone else having trouble accessing the old Google dance site at:
[****.net...]
Even though the dance is gone, it was still a useful tool to see changes across datacenters. Is there an alternative site?
The worry for me is that this happened over night and is already the same on all datacenters.
Any thoughts anyone?
My thoughts would be, try to search in diffrent languages, cause one of my sites also dissapeard, but only for 1 language, just posted about that, but that post is also pending. No garantee this is it do. (&lr=lang_XX)
Google is getting closer to Latin, and there are major shifts taking place in the SERP's right now. It appears to be a resurgence of the old Dance that was virtually lost last spring.
The only consolation is this is happening over a weekend where it will affect less people - SEO's will appreciate not receiving a deluge of phone calls from petrified clients complaining of sites dissapearing. Still, many webmasters will get butterflies when checking their rankings. Its another bouncy ride, we'll see what happens in the end.
here is the best dance tool

People Help!
Strange thing is I found one of my deeper page ranked on page 17.
Site still has the same number of index, backwardlinks and PR.
Still ranks for secondary keywords (less than 20,000 exact match results)...
Noticed that my competitor that sit on top 3 result dropped to top 60.
also noticed that a lots of sites with higher pr jump up in ranking. without even having keyword in the title.
this is definetely quite big of change on google's algo in term of page relevancy and site relevancy. didn't see any changes in popularity algorithm.
from user point of view of my specific keyword, the relevancy of the result is not better. and i sure hope that this will change..
Next thing you know, we'll all be making flash sites to get rank. Well what can I say, if Google feels that using keywords as page elements (ie anchor text for menu items which describe my services) is spam, then it's their decision and I'll have to redesign my site to fit their new TOS. It would be very cool though if they can clarify/quantify this somehow...

I have a PERSONAL real estate site and my home page completely dropped after being at the top for many keywords.
Over the past couple of weeks, I've noticed it happening to my competitors as well.
I've also seen this happening in other cities...not just the Charlotte, NC realtors sites.
The only sites being left in the results are directory sites.
Could it be that sites such as Realtor sites are being taken off so that they can only get at the top by PAYING for google adwords?
It's just a thought.
What confuses my the most is that google's search engine is designed to give surfers the most relevant sites in the results. Atleast in my case, the results are far from relevant.
Hmmm...I don't know
I dont understand this. First we were Indexed then we dint have cache in google..and Listing witout Title and Description the totally vanished.
Do we exist for Google or we Don't?
