Is this true that the age of a page is included in the google algo?

I am using javascript in the same way people use php or perl to build my pages. I prefer using this method for speed of download, as it will cache more of the general content. My pages now change by the variables of my js. Some of my info is also added using js.

I know the js info doesn't get indexed yet, so how will google now if my page has been updated? Will I have to watch my site go lower down the ranks?

Is the javascript client-side or server-side? Difficult to tell what Google will see without knowing how you've implemented it...

Whether or not the age of the page is included in the algorithm, it does definitely affect how often the page is spidered.

I have one page that has a meta redirect on it, and google always follows the redirect and presents "page b" contents in the SERPS when it inspects "page a"

However, although page b changes almost daily, Google looks at the modified date of page a, decides the page hasn't changed, and therefore doesn't reindex the content.

It doesn't seem to affect my ratings, but it does mean that the cache is several months out of date. It will also mean that new links on the page, for example, won't be discovered.
