This is my listing, How can I improve my postion with respect to allinurl. I am optimising for the phrase
"kw1 kw2". My url is kw1kw2.com, I have seen that google prefer kw1-kw2.com instead of kw1kw2.com. Now I am helpless, how can I improve here?
Also what else can I do to get my site at #1.
Thanks
Aji
I have two sites, one with kw1-kw2 in the url and one with kw1kw2, and I can confirm what others (including GoogleGuy) have said - that the hyphen separates out the words so that you'll get a match for kw1 or for kw2 (or both) if you use a hyphen.
If you have a url of the form kw1kw2 then you won't figure *at all* in an allinurl search for either kw1 or kw2. If that's your top level domain, then you're stuck (though as I said, it won't affect your position in an ordinary search all that much).
If it's a directory in your file structure you can rename it and wait for google to find the new copies (I've done that once or twice and it's not too painful, since PR is calculated on the data in its index, even if it's a bit stale.
Allintitle is the one I'd go for...

In short I cant do anything with allinurl. Also I know
1)The word density and basically the text will affect allintext position
2)allinanchor is my incoming links (both internal and external), the more links with the phrase as anchor text will get me good position.
But how can I do anything about allintitle? I have fixed a title "kw1 kw2 kw3". I have only three words in the title, How can I improve my position with respect to allintitle.
So only the thing left is links, right? please suggest more steps towards my goal(#1).
Thanks a lot, webmasterworld is amazing, I have a learned a lot in a very short span but need to learn more.

Concentrate instead on the overall strategies for building a good site that will do well on Google. You've probably looked around at what's available on WW, but in case you've missed them, here's a couple that are must reads:
Marcia's Basics of Google Optimiztion [webmasterworld.com] is a great outline of everthing you should consider for targeting Google. Well, not only Google really, it contains basics that apply across the board to all SEs.
WW's Google Knowledge Base [webmasterworld.com] -- can't leave home without it.
Brett's Successful Site in 12 Months with Google Alone [webmasterworld.com] focuses on applying what we think we know about Google to the real world.
Marcia's thread has links to other resources as well. As I'm sure others have mentioned: Read, read, read. Apply. Read some more. Apply. Go back and read again.
Just my 2 cents,
Jim

jimbeetle has some useful words...
AjiNIMC... My site is number one for KW1 KW2. It used to be number two. Both my competitor and I have the two keywords once in the title, and a few times on the page.
The way I got above my competitor was to improve my PR on the home page (though he is still 6 and I am still 5), to improve my on-page content, to improve my *own* anchor text back to the home page and to use CSS and validated HTML to make a neat and tidy HTML source.
Oh, and the other way I got above him, is that he didn't lift a finger to improve his site!
Yes, you're right that the title alone isn't enough, but my comment was that the title is particularly important - make sure your keywords are near the front.
Don't do "Fred's site for on-line purchase of squidgy widgets"
Do "Squidgy widgets - order here from Fred"
To be brutally honest, in a competitive area you won't fly up the listings, but you will probably make significant progress if you observe good practice and clear thinking at every stage!
Good links and a nicely structured site will also help you consolidate your PR where you want it - regard that as icing on the cake of position. When the icing is thick enough it makes a difference to the stature of the cake, but all icing and no cake isn't the aim!
