If my pages all include the word spelled jalapeño, will people find by searching for jalapeno?

Well, I just did a search for Jalapeno and Jalapeño, and they returned different results.

If it is the same as with accents, jalapeno will return both jalapeno and jalapeño, while jalapeño will return only jalapeño.

They are represent as different ASCII.
There are as different as comparing A with B.

We have had this discussion a few times. It seems to depend on your browser-settings, Google-preferences and your country.

For me (in Denmark), "jalapeño" and "jalapeno" give the same results - and the same words are highlighted in both SERPs. The only difference is that a search for "jalapeno" also return the Category: Home > Cooking > Fruits and Vegetables > Peppers > Hot.

I just wanted to add the results of a few experiments:

A search for "radio sem juros" (without quotes) does NOT highlight "rádio".
A search for "delimitacao" highlights "delimitação"
A search for "cafe" does NOT highlight "café"
A search for "Confluencia" highlights "Confluência"
A search for "islenska" highlights "Íslenska".
A search for "jalapeno" highlights "jalapeño"
A search for "apos" highlights "após".
A search for "conteudo" highlights "conteúdo".

and
A search for "hagstrøm" highlights "hagström".
