Does a PR7 domain alias to a PR6 domain help the latter site?

I don't know how to condense the subject. So my question is simple: if I buy a PR7 domain that is extremely relevant to my own my site & domain, and choose to do a domain alias of this PR7 domain to my PR6 site, will my PR6 site benefit from this?

The reason I want to buy that domain is because the other site has a PR9 linked to it permanently.

Thanks.

hmm .. well "if it sounds too good to be true it usually is" is ringing in my ears ...

It may be a great thing to do .. I just have to question if anything is really "permanent" irock ... you may feel the site may be permanently linked to it .. I dont believe that ... and that pr9 for sure is not a certainty .. only one organisation has responsibility for that aspect and they dont offer any guarantees.

Mark,

they have been doing it for over 3 years... I don't see why they would suddenly pull the plug. but I'm not buying that site entirely for that PR9 link. That site also has tons of other links/stuff that I want.

Fair enough irock .. after all you rock :-) but I think the strategy of buying websites is best for those that know what they are about ... if thats you then fine.

I will be speaking to a prospective new customer later today who bought a site from a business thinking that it was a great way to get onto the internet quickly with a relevant site.

He did not it appears know what he was doing because what he now owns is not worth owning - and the associated "developer" has it appears failed to do anything that he has asked them ..

"He did not it appears know what he was doing because what he now owns is not worth owning - and the associated "developer" has it appears failed to do anything that he has asked them .."
