my website is up and running for the last 6 to 8 weeks and I've been working hard on getting some good backlinks referring my site (a couple of page 4 ranked ones). My page rank turned white 2 weeks ago meaning I've got a 0/10 PR. Why would it be so ridiculously low, sorry non-existant? What can I do to correct it? Have I been banned by google?

Perfectly normal.

Chill out, forget about it for a while and just continue to build a website full of good content and keep plugging away at those backlinks.

You'll be back here in a couple of months time saying "I got to PR5 now and I'm feeling very proud of myself".....

It just takes a little time for google to catch up.

Very normal--it takes some time for a site to build up PageRank, and it can take longer for us to display that in the toolbar. :)

Princessjo, welcome to webmasterworld.

There you go - straight outta the horse's mouth. Can't get a more reliable source than Googleguy himself, can you? (He really is from Google)

So keep at it and good luck.
