Fresh Boost...

How much, how often needs to change?

I've been reading about Google's new love of "Freshness". Here's my question:

If I'm at #3 for my favorite keyword, will changing some content on my home page possibly give me a "fresh boost" to bring me up to a higher ranking?

How often do I need to change my content for such a boost (assuming that answer to my first question is "yes")?

How much needs to change?

If I create a "featured product" page that is updated daily and is linked TO from my home page with maybe the name of the product and a brief description on my home page... will the "freshness" kind of bleed back to my home page and give it a boost, or does the boost just apply to the page that was changed?

Well, I can give you an answer that answers the complete opposite of your question...
One of my sites has a home page that is simply a URL forward from a domain name holding page to a (different) home page on a different ISP.

The content of that page is indexed separately from the addess it forwards to, as it simply has a <noframes>Click here to go to...
message.

That page, then, never changes. It's only PR4
It gets a fresh visit almost every day of the month.
So in certain cases, nothing needs to be changed in order to be freshed every day.

(On the other hand, another site of mine has a PR5 home page, many more inbound links, and hasn't been freshed since August 27th!)

Well, I have no explanation, but you are at least in possession of the same facts as me now!
