Site listed, then not, on Google Keyword Search

Could it be Google shuffle or another problem?

I am completely new to site design and submittal and am providing my services to a charity on a completely volunteer basis. Just three weeks after initialing submitting my site to google and other locations, it was listed within the looksmart directory and the top 10 on certain keyword searches on google, yahoo and aol. Now it seems to have completely disappeared from any key word searches on these google related engines (it is still listed in the looksmart directory).

I have heard the term google shuffle in another forum, and that apparently sites can appear and disappear at random while google updates rankings. However, being completely new to the whole system, I am concerned that some mistake on my part may have made the site disappear.

Checking logs,I noticed two visits from a "browser.google" and an aol visit with the term "Type:Keyword_rollover" before the site diappeared from keyword search. I would greatly appreciate any advice as to whether I should be concerned or whether I'm just being overly nervous.

Thanks, Vince F

Hi Vince

It takes 2-3 months after google has found the site before the listing makes it into their more permanent database.
Prior to this, your site will pop in and out of the searches.

You have nothing to worry about!

try to get as many backlinks as possible. the more you have the more are the chances of you coming back in the listings sooner.
