What is better for links

Hello,

How does google treat multiple links from one domain? For example, what would be better:

1.) 1,000 links from one site.(1 link on 1,000 pages)
2.) 100 links from 100 different sites.

Lets say that all links are PR 4-5.

100 links from 100 different sites, and the more from homepages the better, if possible.

Google indexes pages, not sites.
I'd say it's more or less the same.

I have a competitor that has a couple thousand links from no more than 3 seperate sites and is ranked number one. I am coming in close (2nd) with about 50 links from different sites. I will keep working on it this weekend and hopefully pass him up. He does have a great site so I am not complaining about his strategy, but I had a feeling that a few different links would beat something like this.

You'll also need to get the appropriate relevant anchor text into links; with a number of different sites you can vary that, which is a good idea, not to have it all identical.

The thousand would probably all be the same, and we never know when there will be a limit imposed for the number of links coming from one domain being counted. Plus with all from one site if that site goes down they're all gone and it's back to square one.

Lnks from a good number of different sites looks more like independent votes for a site than all from one, objective rather than possibly looking contrived.

Variety is still the spice of life.

I agree with Marcia wholeheartedly. Lotsa links from many sites is gonna be better unless you perhaps can get a PR10 page to link to you. Lotsa luck if you can pull that off. If you can, you are a better man than me.

lots of links from lots of ip's everytime. Plus some nice 1000 links from 1 site
